Hurricane Safety Tip:

Hurricane Survival Guide Checklist

With Hurricane Irma spinning towards the South Florida area, now is the time to get prepared. Supplies are already flying off the shelves. Here is a checklist of the items you will want to have on hand.

In addition, now is a good time to take a look at your Homeowner’s Insurance or you Renter’s Insurance. Know what your coverage is. Print out and bring your policy with you if you need to evacuate. Also, please note that Homeowner’s and Renter’s Insurance DOES NOT COVER FLOOD DAMAGE. In the event of a flood, you will need a separate policy for any damage caused. Be sure to document your property prior to the storm. Take photos and/or videos of the inside of your house and record all your valuable items. You will need these in the event of having to file a claim with your insurance company.

Another preparation step you should take is to plan your evacuation route. It is likely that if Hurricane Irma becomes a direct threat to South Florida, mandatory evacuations will be issued. It is wise to follow any evacuation orders that are released. This is for your safety.  Follow these tips to insure you and your family are safe and know exactly what to do in an evacuation situation.

Team GFA will be here for you before and after the storm. We want to remind you and your family to please take the storm seriously and most of all, STAY SAFE!
