Camino Real Bridge Reconstruction

This $9 million dollar project consists of renovations to the historic Camino Real Bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway in east Boca Raton, Florida. Work will include replacing the sidewalks, railings, approach spans, decking, and foundations. Vehicle lanes and sidewalks will be widened. The bridge tender’s house will be demolished and moved from the southeast corner to the northeast corner of the bridge.

GFA Services
  • GFA completed a Pre-Construction Video Survey prior to construction. This included a Structural Inspector performing visual inspections and video documentations of exteriors for signs of structural distress or damage, exterior stucco, glazing, walkways / breezeways, and structural conditions. After construction is completed, GFA will perform a Post-Construction Video Survey.
  • GFA is providing FDOT certified engineering field technicians and a certified laboratory to perform construction materials testing in accordance with the approved plans and the requirements of the Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. 
  • GFA is providing geotechnical technicians to perform vibration monitoring with remote seismographs when construction is in close proximity to the existing structure on a continuing basis during construction activities.
