Compartment B South Buildout Stormwater Treatment Area

The Compartment B South Build out is the creation of Cells 7 and 8 which includes construction of the portion of Compartment B known as the South Buildout area on approximately 3,000-acres of land just south of the existing STA 2. 

This project includes the construction of a new inflow canal, gated inflow and outflow structures, spreader canals, collector canals and associated levees to create the compartment B SBO cells 7 and 8 storm water treatment areas. Estimated total cost of construction is $27 million. 

GFA Services
  • GFA provided engineering field technicians and a certified laboratory to perform construction materials testing services for all soil, aggregate, and concrete materials used for the project. 
  • GFA provided certified field inspectors to perform concrete inspections on forms, reinforcing steel, and concrete placement, as well as earthwork inspectors for compaction and fill control, and asphalt inspectors for roadway placement pursuant to requirements of the QCP specifications. 
  • GFA provided a Quality Control Manager to supervise and coordinate all laboratory and field testing performed by GFA personnel in compliance with project specifications. 
  • GFA performed Blasting Consulting inclusive of review of blasting plan and approval, pre-blasting survey report, blast and vibration monitoring for each test and production blast and post blasting survey.
