Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida HealthPark Addition and Renovation

This project consisted of the new construction of an 8-story, 293,000-square foot children’s hospital and parking garage, a two-story central energy plant expansion with a total area of approximately 13,000-square feet and associated site work, including the relocation of parking areas. Construction consisted of an Augered Cast-in-Place Pile Foundation System, concrete pile caps, a thickened edge concrete slab on grade, concrete masonry unit walls, concrete columns, concrete beams, cast-in-place concrete elevated decks and a cast-in-place concrete roof deck. Site work consisted of parking areas, sidewalks, utilities, and other civil improvements. 

GFA Services
  • GFA provided geotechnical field technicians to perform pile installation monitoring services and load testing services. 
  • GFA provided engineering field technicians and a certified laboratory to perform construction materials testing services for all soil, aggregate, and concrete material used for the project. 
  • GFA provided licensed inspectors to perform structural steel inspections and floor flatness testing.
