Hertz Global Headquarters

This project consisted of the new construction of Hertz Corporation’s Global Headquarters. The completed building is a three-story, 302,260-square foot facility with a combination of open office floor plans and executive offices as well as collaboration space, a cafeteria, a gym, a showroom, and telecommunications support spaces. The project also included construction of a 5,000-square foot sales and rental center, a three-level parking structure with 900 spaces and a massive, rooftop solar array, additional surface parking, and associated development work and roadway improvements to the 34-acre site.

GFA Role
  • GFA performed a total of five (5) standard penetration test borings to a depth of 30 to 35 feet below ground surface for the parking garage and concluded the results and recommendations for the foundation in a final geotechnical exploration report.
  • GFA monitored the vibro-replacement program for the foundation of the parking garage as recommended in our Geotechnical Exploration Report.
  • GFA provided field technicians and a certified laboratory to test all soil material and concrete used for the project. This included performing field density tests, limerock bearing ratio testing, and proctor testing for soil and slump tests, unit weight and yield tests, air content tests, and compressive strength testing of all concrete.
