US Southern Command Headquarters

GFA International has performed quality control testing and inspections on the $400 million US Southern Command Headquarters project that included construction of 650,000 square foot of office building and associated site work.

The services provided by GFA included:

  • Provided soils and geotechnical engineering technicians to ensure compliance with geotechnical engineering details
  • Performed materials testing sampling and compliance testing include compaction testing
  • Performed concrete placement inspection and testing include compressive strength, slump test, air content, temperature
  • Provided Pre-pour inspections prior to placement
  • Provided specialized testing of masonry, grouts, light weight concretes
  • Provided certified weld inspectors (CWI) to inspected all field welded elements
  • Provided asphalt placement field and plant testing and inspections to ensure compliance to specifications
