GFA’s Geotechnical Drilling Team was selected by Bauer Foundation Corp. to complete this very complex drilling project in Norfolk, Virginia. It was important that this project be completed quickly to keep the construction of a new interstate bridge in Norfolk on schedule. This project consisted of approximately 900 linear feet of PQ core drilling in 54″ diameter drilled shafts, as well as two vertical HQ cores to approximately 22 feet deep in 36″ diameter drilled shafts with vertical steel protruding 15 feet. In order to complete this project, GFA’s rig had to be lifted onto a temporary platform with a crane. GFA was able to complete this project on time without any delays.
