THOMAS ORTNER has over 33 years of experience in the field of construction and engineering. As GFA’s Executive Vice President, Tom is member of GFA’s senior executive staff and involved in the planning and decision making of all aspects of GFA’s business plans. Tom is the lead executive for risk management and involved in contract negotiation across all offices of GFA. Tom also works closely with the Delray Beach and Miami Branch Mangers as mentor and coach of the two largest branches of GFA.

As the DFI (Deep Foundation) Department Manager of GFA he is solely responsible for the national service market for heavy civil construction on Dams and Levees across the US. Tom sits on the Deep Foundation Institute Technical Committee for Deep Soil Mixing, Slurry Wall, and the Seepage Control Working Group. He performs in the capacity of Project Manager, Contract Administrator, and Supervisor and works very closely with clients and consults with GFA team members, project managers, superintendents, architects, and engineers to ensure the timely delivery of quality services and adherence to management policies, procedures, and practices.
